Setting Up Stock Locations

2 min de leitura5 de abr. de 2026

Settings → Stock Locationsmanage inventory storage locations for materials and products. A location is a named place where items are held: a physical space like a shelf, a room or a second workshop, or a logical grouping that suits your workflow.

Examples

LocationHolds
Main WorkshopWhere most raw materials are stored and used
Retail DisplayFinished products on a shop floor or market stall
Online FulfilmentFinished products packaged and ready to ship
Cold StorageTemperature-sensitive materials kept separately
Consignment StoreProducts held by another seller on your behalf

Creating one

  1. Go to Settings → Stock Locations.
  2. Click Add Location.
  3. Enter a name.
  4. Optionally add a description clarifying what belongs there.
  5. Save.

When you need them

  • You store material in more than one place — a workshop and a lock-up, say.
  • Finished goods live apart from raw stock.
  • You want production output to land somewhere specific.

If everything lives in one room, one location is enough — do not create structure you will then have to maintain.

Where locations show up

  • On purchase order lines, so receiving puts stock in the right place.
  • On sales order lines, so shipping takes it from the right place.
  • On production orders as the output location for finished goods.
  • On manual stock adjustments.

Because every movement records a location, stock can be read per location rather than as one total. If you hold 500 g of soy wax in the main workshop and 200 g in a second studio, both figures are visible as well as the combined 700 g.

Editing and deleting

  • Locations can be renamed at any time.
  • A location with stock movements linked to it cannot be deleted — move the stock elsewhere first, then delete it.
  • With a single location, set it as the default so it is pre-selected on every movement.
