Fields

FieldMeaning
PriceThe cost of one kilogram of the material.
Weight per meter (grams)How many grams one metre weighs.
Track inThe length unit you consume in.

The app offers a hint for the most common case: for 1.75 mm PLA ~3 g/m, for 2.85 mm ~8 g/m.

The maths

cost per metre = price per kg × (grams per metre ÷ 1000)

Example. PLA at 22.00 per kg weighing 3 g/m → 0.003 kg per metre → 0.066 per metre. A print using 12 m of filament costs 0.79.

There is no "total quantity purchased" field in this model, and nothing is divided by a spool length. If you know only the spool price and its length, use Unit Conversion instead — that is the model built for dividing a container price by its contents.
