Pricing Model: Simple (per unit)

Simple is a direct price per unit: Direct price per unit. Use it when the unit you buy in is the unit you consume in, with no conversion.

When to use it

• Rubber feet, screws, clasps, buttons and magnets — bought and used per piece.
• Timber priced per board foot and consumed per board foot.
• Sanding discs, blades and any consumable counted in whole units.

There is none — the price you enter is the cost per unit. Waste is then applied:

effective cost = price × (1 + waste ÷ 100)

Example. Black walnut at 12.50 per board foot with a 12% waste factor charges products 14.00 per board foot, covering the offcuts you will inevitably lose.

If you find yourself doing division in your head before typing the price, you want a different model.
