Pricing Model: Sheet Material
Sheet Material — price per area, sold in sheets. Use it for flat stock you buy as panels or hides and cut pieces from.
When to use it
Use it when you buy flat stock with defined width and height and cut pieces from it.

The maths
sheet area (m²) = width × height — converted to metres first
cost per sheet = price × sheet area
Price is per square metre, not per sheet. This is the single most common mistake with this model. CrafterBy multiplies your price by the sheet's area to arrive at the cost of a sheet — so entering what you paid for one whole hide will inflate every product that uses it. If your supplier quotes per sheet, divide by the sheet's area in m² before entering it.
Example. Acrylic at 38.00 per m², sheets of 600 mm × 400 mm → area 0.24 m² → 9.12 per sheet. With a 5% waste factor, products are charged 9.58 per sheet used.
Using it on a product
On the product's cost breakdown, a sheet material offers width and height inputs instead of a plain quantity. Enter the size of the piece you cut and CrafterBy converts it to an area and works out the quantity — you never calculate the fraction of a sheet yourself.
