Tracking Material Stock

1 min de leitura5 de abr. de 2026

Stock tracking is optional per material. Turn on Track Stock on the Stock & Supplier tab and CrafterBy records levels and movements for that material; leave it off and the material is costed but never counted.

The four levels

FieldMeaning
Current StockHow much you hold right now.
Min StockThe reorder point. At or below it, the material is flagged low.
Max StockAn optional ceiling, to stop over-ordering.
Reorder QtyThe amount to buy when restocking.

For Unit Conversion materials, stock is counted in the unit you buy in — spools, gallons, bottles — not the working unit. The form shows the working-unit equivalent beneath it so you can sanity-check.

Where stock actually changes

Stock is a consequence of things you do elsewhere; the Stock pages are a read-only view of the result.

ActionEffect
Receiving a material purchase orderIncreases stock and updates weighted-average cost
Completing a production orderConsumes the materials it used
Shipping a sales orderReduces finished product stock
A manual adjustmentCorrects the count, with a reason recorded
