Editing and Deleting Materials

1 min de leitura5 de abr. de 2026

Open any material from the Materials list to edit it. Every field, including the pricing model, can be changed later.

Changing a price

Updating a material's price changes the cost of every product that uses it, the next time those costs are recalculated. That is usually what you want — it is how a supplier price rise reaches your prices.

Historical records are not rewritten. A completed production order keeps the cost it was made at, and a past invoice keeps its figures. Only current product costings move.

Changing the pricing model

Switching model re-derives the cost from whatever fields the new model uses. Check the Cost Summary in the sidebar immediately afterwards — a price entered as "per sheet" under one model means something quite different under another.

Deleting

  • A material used by a product cannot simply vanish from that product's costing — review the products first.
  • A material with stock movements is part of your history; consider marking it inactive instead of deleting.
  • Deleting is for mistakes and duplicates, not for materials you have stopped buying.
